Kemal Forrester, began her journey into fashion with the desire to start her own label. Her first job in fashion was, in retail as a Sales Associate for Filene’s Basement & later, Macy’s, two major US department stores. Next, she would take an opportunity to work for the more moderate mainstream fashion brand, Old Navy, a subsidiary of Gap Inc.

Kemal soon attended Parsons The New School for Design in her hometown of New York City as a Fashion Design major, learning various aspects of design. After a year of design school, she was eager to launch her first label, but quickly realized the challenges of building & launching a fashion start-up. Ms. Forrester decided to enroll at the Fashion Institute of Technology, to learn more about the  business side of fashion. She officially entered the creative sector of the fashion world as a Design Assistant at Tiger J, a mid-sized independent fashion company specializing in private labels & celebrity clothing lines for QVC & HSN. After her apprenticeship, she accepted a position as a Fashion Assistant at Brooks Brothers working with Women’s, Men’s & Children’s apparel in the areas of Product Development as well as Production. It wasn't long before LANVIN came knocking and Kemal responded to this golden opportunity to work for the French luxury brand as a Stylist/Dresser for Market Week. She continued to follow the path of Product Development with other notable brands, including Coach, managing her own handbag series as well as completing special projects for Coach 1941, Coach 75th Anniversary & Coach Enamel Stud campaign. Following her position at Coach, Kemal went on to work with Men’s luxury accessories in the area of Sourcing & Merchandising as well as Diane Von Furstenberg in Shipping & Logistics.

As a result, Forrester is well-versed in fashion business knowledge, which inspired her to create her boutique consulting agency, dedicated to assisting  independent designers with the struggles that were all too familiar for her as a designer. Moreover, Ms. Forrester provides mentoring to aspiring fashion talent pursuing careers in the industry.
