A -Line, a term you hear all of the time when reading fashion magazines or watching project runway, but what is it exactly? Well, it is a classic silhouette when designing skirts & dresses. A silhouette is basically an outline, a form or a shape of an object.
So what kind of shape is an A-line?
Think of the letter A, pretty obvious right? Now, just visualize how narrow it is at the top, but gets wider as you get to the bottom. Simply put, an A-line is a silhouette that fits around the midsection and bottom, flaring out toward the hemline, increasing the fabric's movement.
